The second pig was a little more industrious and built his house out of sticks. The third pig, however, was very perceptive and took the time to build his house out of strong, sturdy mortar.
One day, a hungry wolf came along who was thirsty for pork. He encountered the first pig's house of reeds and pleaded to come inside. The little pig, of course, said no. The wolf then blew down the house with a single breath of air!
The first pig fled to his brother's house of branches for safety. The wolf followed, and once again demanded to come inside. The two little pigs said no, but the wolf tossed down the house of branches with just a few puffs! The two pigs then ran to their brother's house of mortar.
The wolf, now enraged, tried his best to blow down the sturdy house of stone, but he just couldn't do. He tried and breathed, but the house stood firm.
Finally, the wolf concluded that he couldn't blow down the house. {Hesneaked up the chimney hoping to surprise the pigs. But the clever third pig had already placed a pot of hot soup at the top of the chimney. The wolf fell into the pot and howled, then scampered as fast as he could. The three little pigs were safe at last!
They lived happily ever after in their sturdy house of bricks.
